Founded in 2016, Mercy’s Hair Design Studio was established in order to provide non-surgical hair replacement solutions to women and men who suffer partial or complete hair loss or thinning hair due to various factors or medical conditions. We provide hair replacement services that leave our clients with a natural looking hair style through creation of custom hair pieces using our various hair replacement techniques that enhance the appearance of your natural hair growth.  Our hair piece customization is available in any hair color and texture. While we provide services for all people seeking hair replacement or enhancement, we particularly specialize in assisting people living with alopecia and cancer patients with their hair replacement needs. We customize each piece to fit every individual’s needs and we do so in a warm, private and caring environment.

Located in the heart of New York City, our studio provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our clients.  We value your need for privacy and offer individual rooms for treatments and consultations.  A visit to Mercy’s Hair Design is so much more than a typical trip to the salon.  We provide a caring, helpful, compassionate understanding of what it is like to go through the challenges of hair loss as a result of chemotherapy, alopecia, or premature thinning hair. With our professional knowledge and years of experience, we not only provide a service to enhance our client’s physical appearance, but also a service that addresses their emotional perspective as well.

We don’t just want you to look good, we want you to feel better about yourself as well. Our goal is to empower you to not only gain the confidence to conquer your appearance but also to conquer the world!

OUR STAFF:

Mercy Montesdeoca, Owner/Founder and Master Stylist

With over 25 years of experience in the hair industry, founder and owner of Mercy’s Hair Design, Mercy Montesdeoca, started as a hairstylist in the 1980’s.  It was then that she was introduced to the hair loss industry. In her early years of providing hair loss restoration services, she went through a heartbreaking ordeal of her own that caused her to experience hair thinning and the potentially devastating effects hair loss can have on a person. Through this experience of her own, she came to understand how traumatic this process can be for anyone. That’s when she knew she had found her life’s calling. Creating solutions for her clients dealing with hair loss became more than just about the service being provided or the products being offered, it became about making her clients feel like their best self.

Mercy fused together her knowledge as a hairstylist with the knowledge she gained in the hair loss industry to create a hair loss solution that gave her clients the most natural look possible. She continued to learn new methods and styles as her experience grew. Along the way, she saw a need in the industry for a more personalized solution to hair loss replacement so Mercy cultivated her own hair attachment technique and created hair bases that provided a more natural, comfortable look and feel. Over the years, as a master level stylist and innovator, Mercy has now trained other stylists on her specific technique of how to attach, cut, and style hair pieces/systems. Her work has been displayed and endorsed by many of the top and most prestigious hairstylists across the country.

Despite all of her accolades, Mercy’s main priority remains the same: to give her clients the highest level of customer service, the best satisfaction in their customized hair replacement options, and the chance to make them feel confident and empowered in their image once again.

Ruben Ramos, Sr. Hairstylist

Ruben Ramos, a stylist with over 25 years of experience, first met Mercy as her client. He had been dealing with male pattern baldness of his own since the age of 17 and was in search of a real solution. He’d heard of Mercy’s work and flew to New York from Chicago to meet her. Being a hair loss client and stylist himself, Ruben knows what having a full head of hair means to your overall look and self-esteem. He wanted to learn Mercy’s technique in order to offer it to his own clients as a solution that he strongly believed in.

Over the years, Mercy and Ruben each walked their own professional paths; but fate brought them back together when they had an unexpected reunion after 16 years of first meeting each other. It was then that Ruben decided to join Mercy’s Hair Design team and he and Mercy have combined their experience and knowledge to give clients the best in non-surgical hair loss solutions ever since.
